Ingredients for Pesarattu :
- Green gram (whole moong) : 1 glass
- Rice : 1/2 glass
- Ginger : 1 inch
- Cumin seeds : 1 tsp
- Green chillies : 2 (as per required hotness)
- Salt to taste
- Oil : for greasing
Method :
- Soak whole moong and rice overnight.
- Coarse grind whole moong, rice, ginger, green chillies and cumin seeds together. Sprinkle salt to taste.
- Add very little water to make batter of dosa consistency.
- Heat a nonstick griddle, pour a ladle full of Pesarattu batter over it and spread.
- Sprinkle oil over the edges and flip it and cook till crisp.
- Serve hot with chutney of your choice. It is also served with upma over it...a typical Andhra tradition.
