Baked Vegetable

Few years back had this dish at some restaurant in Pune and liked it at the first shot! My dad insisted on making it at home, got the recipe somehow and tried...came out really well! You will love it if you like stuff made in white sauce.

Ingredients :
For the White Sauce (Bechamel Sauce)
  • Take equal quantities of butter and all purpose flour (maida) : 1tbsp butter, 1tbsp maida
  • Milk : 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper powder : a pinch
Other Ingredients
  • Chopped french beans : 1 cup
  • Chopped carrots : 1/2 cup
  • Green peas : 1/4 cup
  • Green bell pepper : 1/4 cup
  • Tinned pineapple : 1/4 cup
  • Grated Cheddar cheese : 1/4 cup (I added American cheese)
  • Shredded Mozzarella cheese : 1/4 cup

Method :

  • For white sauce heat the butter on a medium flame.
  • Add maida and stir continuously. Cook for 3-4 min, don't let it brown.
  • Stirring constantly, add warm milk little by little so that it doesn't get lumpy.
  • Bring it to a boil. Add salt and pepper powder. Keep aside.

  • Half cook the chopped vegetables in water for 7-8 min.
  • Take a baking dish , pour a layer of white sauce. Spread veggies over it, add chopped pineapple and pour the remaining white sauce.
  • Put the grated cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese over it and bake at 300°F (150°C) for 10min.
  • Serve hot with toast, garlic bread or just like that!!
